Adelaide weather forecast for Sunday February 9th and the week ahead

Adelaide will see a warm and sunny Sunday, and a hot week ahead.

For the rest of Sunday, Adelaide will see sunny skies with a top of 31 degrees. Winds will be strong heading south to southeasterly 25 to 40 km/h. Gusts to 70km/h are possible about the hills during the early morning. Conditions will be dry with a zero per cent chance of rain.

As for the fire danger rating, there is no rating in the Adelaide Metropolitan area, but in the Mount Lofty Ranges, it is high.

Monday’s temperature will rise to a top of 34 degrees with a low of 17 degrees. Skies will remain clear with winds east to southeasterly 25 to 35 km/h tending southeast to southwesterly 15 to 25 km/h in the late afternoon then tending southeasterly in the evening.

As for Tuesday, temperatures will see a hot high of 38 degrees and a warm low of 22 degrees, with winds easterly 15 to 25 km/h tending northeasterly during the morning and then turning east to southeasterly 15 to 20 km/h during the afternoon. The sunny skies are set to continue into next week with the temperatures continuing to warm up heading towards and into the 40s later in the week.

Today readers should be aware of the strong wind warnings that are in place. Today there are warnings in place for the Central Coast, South Central Coast, Spencer Gulf, Gulf St Vincent, Investigator Strait, Upper South East Coast and Lower South East Coast. As for tomorrow warnings are in place for the Central Coast, South Central Coast, Upper South East Coast and Lower South East Coast.

There is also a Severe Heatwave Warning in place for the North West Pastoral District.

Over the week the UV levels are expected to reach highs of 11, meaning sun protection is recommended from 9:20am to 5:30pm daily.
