Residents of Adelaide and surrounding areas should prepare for a series of weather changes in the upcoming week, according to the latest update from the Bureau of Meteorology, issued on Sunday, 22 June 2025.
Today, Adelaide can expect a sunny morning with temperatures reaching a maximum of 22 degrees. However, the weather will turn in the afternoon with a high chance of showers late this afternoon and evening. Winds will pick up, shifting from northeasterly 15 to 25 km/h to northerly 20 to 30 km/h in the late morning.
Looking ahead to Monday, the temperature will dip slightly with an 11 degrees minimum and an 18 degrees maximum. The day will start mostly sunny, but showers are set to increase dramatically by the late afternoon and evening, accompanied by strong northerly winds reaching up to 45 km/h.
Tuesday will see even cooler conditions with a minimum of 8 degrees and a maximum of only 13 degrees. It will be a cloudy day with persistent showers and a strong potential for thunderstorms and small hail, particularly around the hills and southern suburbs of Adelaide.
The showers will start to ease by Wednesday with continued cool temperatures ranging from 9 degrees to 15 degrees. From Thursday onwards, the weather will be less wet but still cloudy and chilly, with partly to mostly sunny skies expected by next weekend.
The Bureau of Meteorology has also issued a warning to sheep graziers in the Mount Lofty Ranges, Lower Eyre Peninsula, Yorke Peninsula, and Kangaroo Island forecast districts. These areas can anticipate cold temperatures, showers, and northwesterly winds starting late on Monday. There is a risk of losses of lambs and sheep exposed to these harsh conditions.
Marine wind warnings are in effect for several coastal areas. Gale warnings have been announced for the Far West Coast, Lower West Coast, Central Coast, and South Central Coast, among others, for Sunday and Monday.
There is a flood warning for the inland rivers SA, with notable levels on the Warburton River at Poothapoota Waterhole and Cooper Creek at Cullyamurra Waterhole.
