For the weather, South Australia will see a mix of showers, cooler temperatures and cloud cover this week as a trough moves across the state, followed by a cold front approaching from the southwest midweek.
In Adelaide, today’s maximum is forecast at 29°C with a 90 per cent chance of rain and totals between 2 and 9 mm expected. North to northeasterly winds will strengthen to around 35 km/h before turning south to southwesterly later in the day as conditions begin to cool.
Monday will bring a marked drop in temperature, with a minimum of 11°C and a maximum of 17°C. Showers are likely early in the day, with a 70 per cent chance of rain before easing into the afternoon. Winds will continue from the southwest at 15 to 20 km/h, weakening by evening.
Tuesday will be slightly warmer with a top of 18°C and a drier outlook, though there remains a 30 per cent chance of light rain. By Wednesday, showers are expected to return with a 70 per cent chance and temperatures between 10°C and 20°C. Rain is forecast to persist into Thursday and Friday, keeping skies mostly cloudy and conditions damp across the city. Saturday will bring a slight improvement, with fewer showers but a cool and unsettled finish to the week.
The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a sheep graziers warning for Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East forecast districts, with cold temperatures, showers and strong southwesterly winds posing risks to exposed livestock. A strong wind warning is also in effect for the Spencer Gulf and Lower South East Coast today, continuing for the Lower South East Coast into Monday.
Overall, Adelaide and much of South Australia are set for a cool and variable week, with shifting winds, frequent showers and continuing weather warnings for both agricultural and coastal areas.
