As we head towards another long weekend, Adelaide will see a mix of cloudy and sunny weather. According to the latest reports from the Bureau of Meteorology, the city will see mild temperatures with occasional showers over the weekend.
Today, Adelaide will have a mostly sunny day, with a maximum temperature of 26 degrees and minimal chance of rain. Light winds from the northwesterly direction will become lighter in the late afternoon, making for nice conditions throughout the day.
Looking ahead to Friday, the forecast predicts a cloudier day with a slight chance of morning and afternoon showers. Temperatures are expected to range from a minimum of 16 degrees to a maximum of 26 degrees. Winds will shift from south to southwesterly around the middle of the day and then to southeasterly by the late afternoon.
On Saturday, the conditions will be partly cloudy with slight chances of morning and afternoon showers. The day will see a cooler maximum of 23 degrees and a minimum temperature of 15 degrees. Winds will be primarily southerly, ranging from 15 to 25 km/h.
Greater South Australia will see varied weather conditions over the coming days. Patchy morning fog is expected in the southeast, Kangaroo Island, and the Eyre Peninsula. By evening, isolated showers might develop in the far west, potentially reaching western parts of Kangaroo Island and the Eyre Peninsula. The rest of the region remains dry, with temperatures varying from above average in the northern parts to slightly below average in the far north.
On the regional weather front from Friday onwards, there will be scattered showers and possible thunderstorms west of Spencer Gulf and along the eastern border. The weather will cool down slightly with fresh southwest to southeasterly winds, extending across the region by late evening.
The state also faces several weather warnings. Currently, there is a strong wind warning for the Far West Coast, which is effective until midnight on Friday, April 25th. There is a flood warning for inland rivers, with floodwaters arriving at Coongie Lakes and impacting Walkers Crossing. The Diamantina River is experiencing major flooding, which is expected to keep river levels elevated for an extended period.
