Adelaide weather forecast for Thursday February 19th and the days ahead

With a cool couple of days, Thursday has you easing towards the weekend. Here’s your Adelaide forecast for today and the days ahead.

Adelaide is heading into a warm, mostly settled run before a noticeable change brings showers and a cooler reset early next week. Sunshine dominates through the end of the week, with temperatures climbing steadily and UV levels remaining very high to extreme. Today stays bright and clear with light winds, setting up a dry and comfortable finish before heat builds into Friday and peaks on Saturday.

Friday remains sunny with temperatures pushing into the low 30s, while Saturday looks to be the hottest day of the stretch, climbing into the mid-30s under mostly sunny skies. Conditions will still be largely stable, though increasing cloud hints at the shift approaching. By Sunday, a broader weather system moves through, bringing showers across Adelaide and a drop in daytime temperatures. That change continues into Monday with cooler, calmer conditions and a return to mostly sunny skies. Early next week settles into a mixed pattern with bright periods, mild temperatures, and the chance of an isolated shower by Tuesday before partly cloudy conditions return midweek.

Sun protection is recommended across the next few days, with UV levels reaching very high to extreme and exposure times peaking through the middle of the day. Fire danger remains moderate in the Mount Lofty Ranges, and residents should stay aware of conditions as heat builds toward the weekend.

Across South Australia, a weakening high pressure ridge will give way to a broad trough developing through the west and north by Saturday, followed by a cold front pushing across southern parts on Sunday. This will bring showers and thunderstorms to many districts, particularly through the west, pastoral regions and agricultural areas. Rainfall is expected to be widespread by Sunday, with most areas likely to see 5–15 mm, increasing to 15–30 mm in southern pastoral districts, the West Coast and northern agricultural areas. Localised heavier falls are possible, particularly in western districts, with isolated totals reaching 30–50 mm and higher in some pockets. Early next week, a broad low persists in the north while a new high pressure ridge stabilises conditions over southern waters, returning more settled weather to southern districts.

Warnings
No major statewide warnings listed as of 6am Thursday 19 February. The Bureau of Meteorology suggests residents should monitor local updates as showers and thunderstorms develop across multiple districts on Sunday, particularly in western and pastoral regions where heavier rainfall is possible.
