Adelaide is experiencing a cooler and more changeable summer day today, before sunshine and heat rebuild heading into the weekend.
For the rest of Thursday, skies will be partly cloudy with temperatures topping out around 25 degrees. There’s a medium chance of showers about the hills and southern suburbs, with only a slight chance elsewhere. Fresh southerly winds of 25 to 40 km/h will make it feel cooler, particularly along the coast, while UV levels remain extreme during clearer periods.
Friday stays relatively mild, with a minimum of 15 degrees and a top of 27. Conditions will be partly cloudy, with a slight chance of showers lingering about the hills and southern suburbs during the morning and early afternoon before easing. Southerly winds will remain fresh, keeping temperatures below average for this time of year.
By Saturday, sunshine takes over. The day is expected to be mostly dry and sunny, reaching around 31 degrees. Winds will shift south to southeasterly at 20 to 30 km/h, with only a very low chance of isolated showers.
The heat really builds on Sunday, with mostly sunny skies and temperatures climbing to around 33 to 34 degrees. Overnight temperatures will remain elevated, bringing warm nights across the weekend.
Early next week continues the summer run. Monday is forecast to reach around 33 degrees under sunny skies, before Tuesday brings slight relief with partly cloudy conditions and a top of around 32 degrees. By Wednesday, temperatures are expected to lift again, reaching around 35 degrees.
Fire danger remains high in the Mount Lofty Ranges, and strong wind warnings are in place across multiple coastal zones including Gulf St Vincent, Investigator Strait and Adelaide Metropolitan Waters. Anyone heading outdoors, boating or planning beach time is urged to stay across local conditions and warnings.
