Adelaide is heading into a cool, grey stretch of winter weather, with showers drifting through at times and daytime temperatures staying well below average for much of the next week.
While there won’t be any major surprises for the city, the forecast points to a run of chilly mornings, patchy rain and a wetter spell on Saturday before conditions ease again.
For the rest of today, Adelaide can expect partly cloudy skies with the chance of a shower, most likely from late morning into the afternoon. It won’t be especially wet, but it will feel brisk, with light winds turning southwesterly at 15 to 25 km/h before easing by evening. The city is only forecast to reach 14 degrees, with nearby suburbs such as Elizabeth topping out at 13 and Mount Barker just 12.
Friday stays cloudy and cool, with only a slight chance of a shower and a top of 15 degrees after an early low of 7.
The weekend keeps that wintry feel going. Saturday is shaping up as the wettest day of the Adelaide outlook, with a very high chance of showers and possible rainfall of 1 to 8 mm. Cloud cover will linger, and winds will swing west to northwesterly during the day, with temperatures holding between 9 and 15 degrees.
Sunday looks a touch calmer, with partly cloudy conditions, a medium chance of a shower or two, and a slightly milder top of 16 degrees.
Into next week, Adelaide’s weather remains fairly settled, but showers are still in the mix. Monday is expected to be partly cloudy with a medium chance of rain developing later in the day as northerly to northwesterly winds pick up.
Tuesday then looks like another showery day, with a high chance of rain and up to 7 mm possible as winds shift southwesterly.
By Wednesday, showers should become lighter and more scattered, mostly during the morning, while the mercury again reaches around 16 degrees.
