Adelaide weather forecast for Thursday June 5th and the days ahead

South Aussies should prepare for the continuation of chilly and wet conditions, according to the Bureau of Meteorology’s latest forecasts. Adelaide and the rest of the state will face a series of cold fronts accompanied by showers and strong winds over the coming days.

Today, Adelaide will experience a maximum temperature of 17 degrees with the likelihood of a late shower. Rain between 0 to 1 mm is a 40 per cent chance, and is expected later tonight. The city is currently under cloudy skies with medium chances of showers, driven by north to northeasterly winds blowing at 20 to 30 km/h.

The weather is set to take a wetter turn on Friday, with temperatures ranging from a minimum of 8 degrees to a maximum of 17 degrees. The chance of showers is high, with rainfall anticipated between 2 and 15 mm. The chance of rain increases to 95 per cent, and comes with strong northerly winds shifting westerly in the early afternoon.

Saturday will see similar conditions with temperatures forecasted between 9 degrees and 16 degrees. Again, Adelaide can expect a very high chance of showers, particularly in the afternoon and evening. The day will see westerly winds of 25 to 40 km/h turning southwesterly in the evening.

From Sunday to Wednesday, showers will continue with daily maximum temperatures staying around the mid-teens. Sunday will be the coolest day, with a high of only 13 degrees and showers.

A significant alert has been issued for sheep graziers in the Mount Lofty Ranges, Yorke Peninsula, Kangaroo Island, and Lower South East. A frost warning is in place for Thursday morning in the Riverland, Murraylands, Upper South East, and Lower South East forecast districts, where temperatures may drop to as low as -2 degrees.

Marine activities have also been cautioned with Gale and Strong Wind Warnings issued for various coastal areas across South Australia through Friday. Flood warnings are also in effect for inland rivers with ongoing impacts expected in Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre and Cooper Creek regions.
