Adelaide Weather Forecast for Thursday, March 13th and the Days Ahead

Explore the latest weather updates for South Australia.

South Australian residents, particularly those in the West Coast and North West Pastoral Districts, are advised to take precautions due to a severe heatwave warning issued by the Bureau of Meteorology. The heatwave will see maximum temperatures in the low to mid forties and overnight minimums remaining in the mid to high twenties, is expected to reach its peak intensity by the end of this week. The lower South East district has seen the heatwave warning canceled, signalling some relief for that area.

For Adelaide, the weather over the next few days will mostly be sunny. Thursday will see a high of 32 degrees following a mild morning with a minimum of 17 degrees. Winds are expected to shift from easterly in the morning to southeasterly in the evening. Friday will continue the trend of clear skies and warm conditions, with a high of 35 degrees after a morning low of 18 degrees. Over the weekend, the temperatures will vary; Saturday will warm up to 38 degrees and be partly cloudy, whereas Sunday’s temperatures will drop to a maximum of 26 degrees and showers.

The state-wide forecast shows a continuation of these conditions, with a low pressure trough lingering in the northeast and a weak high developing over the Bight. There’s a possibility of isolated showers and thunderstorms primarily confined to the far northeast and southern parts of the pastoral districts. Moving into the weekend, showers are expected to extend across much of the state on Sunday, with possible thunderstorms in the southern agricultural areas.

With these conditions, residents and visitors should take preventative measures such as staying indoors, keeping hydrated, and avoiding strenuous activities during peak heat times, which are advised.
