Adelaide can expect a clear and warm end to their week with today’s maximum expected to hit 32 degrees under sunny skies. A minimal 5% chance of rain reinforces the dry conditions.
Temperatures will continue to rise slightly on Friday, reaching a high of 33 degrees. It is forecast to be mostly sunny, with a slight chance of a shower as indicated by a 20% chance of rain. Southeasterly winds will range between 15 to 25 km/h, shifting throughout the day.
Saturday sees a small dip in temperatures, with a high of 29 degrees. Like Friday, it will be mostly sunny, with a 10% chance of rain. Winds on Saturday will start from the east to southeasterly at 15 to 20 km/h and increase to 25 to 40 km/h during the day.
Cooler weather is due Sunday as the maximum temperature falls to 25 degrees. The sky will be partly cloudy, marking a slight turn in weather pattern but remaining predominantly dry. Winds will continue from the south to southeast, maintaining a cooler edge to the air.
Looking across South Australia, a ridge of high pressure to the south maintains settled conditions for most areas. However, isolated showers are expected in the northeast with possible afternoon thunderstorms in the west today. The high-pressure system will push the trough eastwards by Saturday, clearing skies in the north.
It is noteworthy that there is an initial flood warning for the Inland Rivers SA, particularly along the Cooper Creek at Innamincka. Current advisories list river levels at Cullyamurra Waterhole as rising rapidly.
