As Adelaide welcomes May, we can look forward to some well-deserved sunny days. The city is set to enjoy clear skies with temperatures climbing through the week.
Today, Adelaide will experience a sunny day with a maximum temperature of 21 degrees. Light winds from the southeast are expected, which will shift east to southeasterly later in the day.
Tomorrow, conditions are also expected to remain sunny with a minimum temperature of 9 degrees and a peak at 23 degrees. Light easterly breezes will be seen through the day and intensify by the evening. The weekend will kick off with a mostly sunny Saturday reaching up to 25 degrees after a mild start at 12 degrees. By Sunday, temperatures will reach 27 degrees following a minimum of 15 degrees, with the skies mostly clear.
The weather early next week will see a slight change. Monday will be partly cloudy with temperatures ranging between 17 degrees and 25 degrees. On Tuesday and Wednesday, Adelaide should prepare for a couple of showers, with temperatures expected to hover around 23 degrees after lows of 14 degrees and 13 degrees, respectively.
Meanwhile, across the broader state of South Australia, a strong high-pressure system located south of Mount Gambier is predicted to shift eastwards across the Tasman Sea. This will maintain a ridge that brings dry weather and near to above-average temperatures throughout the region until the weekend.
While the weather remains favourable in most parts, the Bureau of Meteorology has issued a flood warning for inland rivers in South Australia, including Eyre Creek, Diamantina River, and Cooper Creek. Areas affected include Coongie Lakes, Walkers Crossing, and Poothapoota Waterhole, where river levels have peaked and are now receding slowly. Residents of these areas are advised to stay informed through the Bureau’s official website and take necessary precautions.
