Over the next few days Adelaide can expect varied weather conditions. As we approach the end of the week, South Australians should prepare for a series of cool and wet days, according to the latest reports from the Bureau of Meteorology.
Today is forecast to reach a maximum of 23 degrees with a few showers expected throughout the day. Cloud coverage will be extensive, with showers becoming sporadic by late afternoon and into the evening. Winds are anticipated to pick up, coming from an easterly direction at speeds of 15 to 25 km/h.
Tomorrow, the minimum temperature will dip to 13 degrees, climbing to a warmer 27 degrees by the afternoon. The day will potentially start with a thunderstorm, which is likely to clear later. Rainfall will be light, with amounts ranging from 0 to 3 mm, and a 60 per cent chance of rain is expected mainly in the afternoon hours.
The weather will cool down slightly on Saturday, with temperatures ranging from 13 degrees to 22 degrees. The day will be partly cloudy with a continuing medium chance of showers, especially towards the evening. Winds will shift to westerly at speeds of 15 to 25 km/h.
A bit of a chill sets in by Sunday, with the mercury dropping further to a high of only 20 degrees and persistent showers through the day.
Across the broader regions of South Australia, the weather scenario involves a complex system of high-pressure ridges and low-pressure troughs affecting the area. Early morning frosts and fog are possible in the southeast, while showers and possible thunderstorms will develop over western and central districts, moving east. These conditions are caused by a high-pressure system off the NSW coast and an approaching low-pressure trough from the west, which will traverse the central and eastern parts of South Australia over the next couple of days.
Happy Thursday!
