As Adelaide enjoys the autumn season, varied weather conditions are anticipated across the city and broader South Australia in next few days. According to the Bureau of Meteorology, temperatures in Adelaide fluctuate, with a possible decline in temperature by the weekend.
Today, the city will experience partly cloudy skies with a high of 32 degrees. Light winds from the north to northeast will shift to northwest to southwest in the early afternoon and then to northeast to southeasterly late in the afternoon. As the week progresses, Wednesday promises mostly sunny conditions with temperatures holding steady with a minimum of 21 degrees and a maximum of 32 degrees again. Winds will shift from northeasterly in the morning to northwesterly, becoming light in the afternoon.
The forecast for Thursday predicts partly cloudy conditions with minimum temperatures dipping slightly to 19 degrees and a maximum of 28 degrees. Winds will be east to northeasterly before shifting to west to southwesterly during the day.
A change is expected by the weekend as low pressure extends over the region. Friday will likely see a possible shower as the day progresses, with temperatures ranging between 16 degrees and 27 degrees. The chance of rain increases over the weekend with Saturday anticipating showers and a further drop in temperatures, ranging from 18 degrees to a maximum of 24 degrees. Sunday will follow with similar conditions, potentially a shower or two with cooling temperatures between 13 degrees and 21 degrees.
Regarding weather warnings, current flood warning persists for the Inland Rivers of South Australia. Significant flooding is occurring at Innamincka, and floodwaters are arriving from Queensland along the Diamantina River, affecting areas up to Birdsville near the South Australia border. River levels are expected to remain elevated.
Looking ahead to the next three days, South Australia will see isolated showers about the west and agricultural areas, potentially extending into the south of the rural districts while remaining dry in the north. As central and eastern parts maintain above-average temperatures, cooler conditions will extend elsewhere heading into the weekend.
