Adelaide is set for a warm and mostly settled week, with sunshine dominating the days ahead before a cooler change arrives across the weekend. For most of the next seven days, the city can expect autumn weather that still leans pleasantly warm, with only a slight chance of showers later on Saturday and again on Sunday.
Today is shaping up beautifully across Adelaide, with sunny skies and a top of 29 degrees in the city, while places like Elizabeth could reach 30. Northeasterly winds will shift during the day, but there’s little sign of rain, making it a great day to get outside. Wednesday eases back slightly to a top of 27 degrees, starting partly cloudy before skies clear later on. Winds will lighten early before turning east to southeasterly by evening, keeping conditions comfortable rather than cool.
By Thursday, sunshine returns in full, with Adelaide heading back up to 29 degrees after a cooler morning low of 15. Friday stays in a similar pattern, mostly sunny and warm with a top of 28. Through this stretch, the city avoids the patchy showers expected near some southern coastal parts of the state, and conditions remain largely dry and easy-going around the metro area.
The first real change arrives on Saturday. Adelaide is expected to be partly cloudy with a slight chance of a shower later in the day as winds turn west to northwesterly during the morning. Even so, it will still reach 27 degrees, so Anzac Day plans should be mostly in good shape, with just the possibility of a late shower worth keeping in mind.
Sunday looks cooler, with the top dropping to 23 degrees under partly cloudy skies and a slight chance of a shower. South to southwesterly winds will freshen the air, making it the coolest day of the forecast period. By Monday, the calmer weather returns, with mostly sunny skies, light winds and a mild top of 24 degrees after a chilly morning low of 13.
Across South Australia much of the state stays dry, though southern coastal districts could see isolated light showers, mainly during Wednesday morning and early afternoon. Rainfall totals are expected to stay low for most areas, with up to 2 mm across the agricultural area and West Coast district, and slightly higher falls near southern coasts, ranges and the Lower South East. The far southwest may also see an isolated shower or even a possible thunderstorm late today. Elsewhere, temperatures are running above average across much of the state, with morning fog patches possible in southern and eastern districts. Another front may pass over the south on Saturday, bringing the cooler weekend change that Adelaide will notice.
At the same time, inland river communities in the state’s far northeast remain under close watch, with elevated river and creek levels continuing as floodwaters move in from Queensland. Conditions along the Warburton River and lower Cooper Creek remain a concern, and road access in some remote areas is still being impacted. Travellers heading into outback regions should check conditions carefully before setting out.
