Adelaide Weather Forecast for Tuesday, March 18th and the Week Ahead

Expect a mix of sunny skies and potential showers this week, alongside comprehensive updates on temperature changes and wind shifts across South Australia.

According to the Bureau of Meteorology, Adelaide can look forward to a mixed weather pattern over the coming days. Today, the city will experience sunny skies with a maximum temperature of 27 degrees. Winds will range from northeast to southeasterly, picking up to around 15-20 km/h and shifting southeast to southwesterly by early afternoon before turning easterly late in the evening.

Tomorrow, the sunshine continues with a minimum morning temperature of 17 degrees rising to a warm 32 degrees. The wind will blow from the east to northeast at a speed of 15 to 20 km/h, shifting to north to northwest later in the morning and easing during the evening.

However, on Thursday, the weather takes a turn. The city can expect a minimum of 22 degrees and a maximum of 29 degrees with a shower or two. The chance of rain is estimated at 70 per cent, with potential rainfall amounting from 0 to 3 mm. Winds will shift throughout the day starting from north to northeast, turning northwest to southwest during the morning, and settling southeast to southwest in the afternoon.

The rest of the week sees temperatures stay fairly consistent. Friday will have clouds clearing with temperatures between 17 degrees and 28 degrees. Both Saturday and Sunday promise sunny and partly cloudy skies respectively, each day hovering around similar temperatures with lows of 15 degrees or 16 degrees and highs of 29 degrees.

Looking at broader South Australia, a trough remains near the northern border, causing unsettled conditions in the north throughout the week. Meanwhile, a strong high-pressure system over the Bight extends a ridge across the southern part of the state, promising more stable conditions there. A cold front approaching from the Southern Ocean on Thursday will affect mainly the southeast regions.

For areas north, scattered showers and possible thunderstorms are expected, particularly about the far west and north. Cumulative rainfall until the end of Friday in these parts could range from 2 to 10 mm due to thunderstorms.

It is important to remain updated with the latest weather forecast details, particularly during such variable conditions.
