As the week unfolds, Adelaide and greater South Australia are set to experience a variety of weather conditions ranging from sunny days to potential showers, according to the latest forecasts from the Bureau of Meteorology.
Today, residents can expect a pleasant day with clear skies and a maximum temperature of 24 degrees. Light winds will shift from westerly to 15 to 20 km/h around midday and will ease in the early afternoon. As we move into Wednesday, the weather will become partly cloudy with a slight chance of showers, primarily in the morning and afternoon. Temperatures are expected to reach a maximum of 21 degrees after a minimum of 9 degrees overnight. Winds will shift from south to southwesterly during the day.
Thursday will see similar conditions with partly cloudy skies and a slight chance of showers. The temperature will slightly drop, with a maximum of 20 degrees expected after a minimum of 9 degrees. The wind pattern will remain consistent with gentle winds turning southwesterly during the afternoon.
On Friday, the potential for showers increases and the temperatures will remain cool, reaching a high of 20 degrees after starting at 9 degrees. The weekend forecast predicts a continuation of partly cloudy weather with temperatures gradually decreasing. By Sunday, the maximum temperature will drop to 18 degrees following a chilly start at 6 degrees.
There are sustained elevated water levels in the Inland Rivers of South Australia, particularly in the Warburton River at Poothapoota Waterhole and Cooper Creek at Walkers Crossing and Coongie Lakes, and people travelling the area should be prepared for potential impacts on river crossings and roads.
Across broader South Australia, a high-pressure system stationed off the southeast coast is influencing weather patterns, with a ridge persistently over the state influencing the upcoming weather. This will result in mostly dry conditions with minimal rainfall expected, aside from possible isolated light showers near coastal areas.
