Adelaide is set for varied weather conditions over the coming days, with showers and possible thunderstorms forecasted, alongside a fresh set of marine and fire weather warnings issued by the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM).
For the remainder of Tuesday, Adelaide can expect partly cloudy skies with a medium chance of showers, predominantly during the afternoon and evening. Similarly, the potential for a thunderstorm is highest during these times. Temperature highs could reach up to 30 degrees, supported by east to northeasterly winds shifting to northerly later in the evening at speeds of 25 to 35 km/h.
Moving into Wednesday, November 6th, the weather is expected to remain partly cloudy with slight chances of morning showers and thunderstorms. The mercury will peak at a cooler 25 degrees, with north to northwesterly winds transitioning to southwesterly throughout the day.
On Thursday, November 7th, the forecast suggests a continuation of shower activity, particularly in the morning, followed by a mostly sunny afternoon. Maximum temperatures are predicted to cool further to 22 degrees, with light winds turning westerly.
The BOM has also released a marine wind warning for South Australia’s Far West Coast for strong winds on Tuesday. This could impact maritime activities in the area, and caution is advised.
Compounding the marine warnings, there is also a severe fire weather warning for the West Coast fire weather district due to extreme fire dangers anticipated on Tuesday. The Country Fire Service strongly urges residents to activate their Bushfire Survival Plans and stay informed through local media and official websites.
These extreme fire dangers are driven by hot, dry conditions coupled with vigorous north to northwesterly winds, shifting to west to northwesterly in the afternoon before a cooler southwesterly change in the late evening.
A broad low-pressure system across the northern part of the state and a high-pressure ridge moving east are influencing these weather patterns. The BOM notes that a weakening low-pressure trough from Western Australia will cross South Australia through Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday. This will precede a few cold fronts expected to sweep across the southeast later in the week.
Adelaide’s weather over the next few days will see variations from showers and potential thunderstorms to strong winds.
