Adelaide weather forecast for Tuesday September 30th and the days ahead

Adelaide will see cooler, rainy conditions as we approach the long weekend, before it heats up with a few sunny days.

As we prepare to head into October, Adelaide and much of South Australia are experiencing unsettled weather patterns as a series of cold fronts sweep across the region. According to the Bureau of Meteorology, showers will be seen across numerous parts of the state, with varying intensities expected over the coming days.

Today, the forecast is wet with a maximum temperature of 17 degrees. There is a 95 per cent chance of rainfall, with potential accumulation reaching between 4 to 15 mm. We can also anticipate possible thunderstorms this morning, particularly around the hills and southern suburbs. Winds are expected to be brisk, coming from the west at 25 to 35 km/h.

Tomorrow, it’s not much brighter, as showers are expected to increase throughout the day. The temperature will stay between a minimum of 11 degrees and a maximum of 19 degrees, with the likelihood of rain remaining at 95 per cent. Westerly winds will again be strong, reaching speeds of 25 to 40 km/h.

By Thursday, conditions are forecast to improve slightly with fewer showers. Temperatures are expected to range from 9 degrees in the early morning to a peak of 17 degrees. The chance of rain decreases to 70 per cent, with most showers anticipated in the morning. Winds will continue to be a significant factor, blowing west to southwesterly at 25 to 40 km/h.

Looking ahead to the long weekend, weather conditions will improve significantly. Friday will be partly cloudy with temperatures between 10 degrees and 19 degrees. Saturday promises sunshine with a much warmer maximum of 27 degrees. Sunday will see partly cloudy skies again, but with warmer conditions, as temperatures are expected to reach up to 29 degrees. Monday will reach 25 degrees with a shower or two.

A Strong Wind Warning is in place today for the Lower West Coast, Central Coast, Spencer Gulf, and Investigator Strait. Tomorrow’s conditions escalate as a Gale Warning is issued for the South Central Coast, Investigator Strait, Upper South East Coast, and Lower South East Coast. Additionally, a Strong Wind Warning will continue for Adelaide Metropolitan Waters, Upper West Coast, Lower West Coast, Central Coast, Spencer Gulf, and Gulf St Vincent.

Across the state, isolated showers are expected in the southern agricultural areas, while it remains dry across the north. These conditions are part of a broader pattern involving several cold fronts and a high-pressure system moving into the region throughout the week.

Happy Tuesday!
