There will be relatively clear skies today in Adelaide with a maximum temperature of 23 degrees, according to the Bureau of Meteorology. Despite the good weather, it’s worth paying attention to the weather conditions not just in Adelaide but across the state, particularly with current flood warnings in place.
Cosmopolitan Adelaide can expect light winds and mostly sunny skies, however, the weather will shift slightly over the next few days. Tomorrow, temperatures will rise slightly with a high of 26 degrees under partly cloudy skies. By Friday, there might be a possible shower with the temperature reaching a maximum of 24 degrees.
Looking ahead to the weekend, Adelaide will experience partly cloudy conditions on Saturday with a high of 22 degrees and similar weather continuing into Sunday, but with cooler temperatures around 21 degrees. The following Monday and Tuesday forecast suggests possible showers and partly cloudy conditions with temperatures hovering around the early twenties.
While Adelaide enjoys mostly calm weather, parts of South Australia are facing water-related challenges. The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a flood warning for the Inland Rivers SA, affecting areas along the Diamantina River and Cooper Creek. Significant water levels are being recorded, particularly with floodwaters arriving at Coongie Lakes and Walkers Crossing and impacting travel in the region.
Regions such as Warburton and Cooper Creek are observing elevated river levels. This stems from major flooding along the Diamantina River near Birdsville near the South Australia border and upstream flooding in Queensland, which is causing downstream impacts in South Australia.
Residents in impacted areas are advised to stay informed and take advice or directives from emergency services. Those living or working along rivers and streams should exercise caution and stay updated on the latest weather forecasts and warnings.
Meanwhile, broader South Australian weather trends indicate isolated showers developing around the far west, extending to Kangaroo Island and the Eyre Peninsula by Thursday. Scattered showers may continue into the weekend, particularly west of Spencer Gulf and along the eastern border. While the northern regions will see temperatures above average, the southern regions will experience cooler temperatures.
As we move into next week, isolated showers are expected mainly in southern agricultural areas. Below-average temperatures will continue, with prevailing southwesterly to southeasterly winds.
