The latest weather forecasts from the Bureau of Meteorology predict cold temperatures with rain and showers across the state, over the rest of the week. In Adelaide, showers are expected to ease today, with the temperature reaching a maximum of 15 degrees.
Tomorrow will bring partly cloudy skies with a low of 8 degrees and a high of 17 degrees, with a slight chance of a shower in the evening. The weather takes a wetter turn on Friday, with consistent rain forecasted and temperatures ranging from 8 degrees to a chilly 13 degrees. The weekend will continue the trend with showers expected both Saturday and Sunday, maintaining cool temperatures around 8 degrees to 14 degrees.
The start of the next week doesn’t promise much change in the conditions, with Monday and Tuesday also expecting to see showers and slightly higher temperatures between 7 degrees and 15 degrees.
The Bureau of Meteorology has also issued several warnings. A Warning to Sheep Graziers is in effect for the West Coast and North West Pastoral forecast districts due to the expected cold temperatures, showers, and strong northerly winds starting Thursday. These conditions pose a risk to livestock, particularly the loss of lambs and sheep exposed to the harsh elements.
A Strong Wind Warning has been issued for maritime areas including the Far West Coast, Upper West Coast, Lower West Coast, Central Coast, and South Central Coast for Thursday. Mariners should be aware of these conditions and monitor updates closely.
The overall state weather situation is influenced by a high-pressure ridge over the north and a low-pressure system moving southeast. This setup is guiding a broad westerly flow across the south, shifting to northwesterly on Thursday. A new low-pressure system is anticipated to cross South Australia from Friday, affecting the weather into the weekend.
The southern agricultural areas will see gradual clearing of showers, while the north remains clear with potential frost risks due to colder night-time temperatures. Cumulative rainfalls until the end of Saturday are expected to range from 5 to 20 mm in the Pastoral districts and 10 to 40 mm in agricultural areas, with the southern Mount Lofty Ranges possibly receiving up to 80 mm.
