Adelaide can expect a mixed bag of weather over the coming days, with showers easing midweek before warmer temperatures and another rain-bearing front arrive just in time for the weekend.
After a chilly and damp Wednesday, which is forecast to reach a top of just 17 degrees with a very high chance of showers, conditions are expected to improve quickly from Thursday.
Thursday looks set to be the pick of the working week, with mostly sunny skies, light winds and a pleasant maximum of 19 degrees. Rain is unlikely for most of the day, giving locals a welcome opportunity to enjoy some sunshine after a soggy start to June.
The warmer trend continues into Friday, when Adelaide is forecast to climb to a mild 23 degrees. While cloud cover will increase throughout the day, showers are not expected to arrive until later in the afternoon and evening.
Unfortunately, the warmer weather won’t last long, as a cold front is expected to move through overnight Friday into Saturday morning, bringing widespread showers and gusty conditions across metropolitan Adelaide. Saturday is forecast to reach 18 degrees, with rain most likely during the morning before gradually easing throughout the afternoon.
Sunday’s forecasts indicate sunny skies, light winds and a crisp winter maximum of 17 degrees, with virtually no chance of rain.
The dry conditions are expected to be short-lived, however, with another rain system forecast to arrive early next week. Both Monday and Tuesday currently carry a very high chance of showers, with daytime temperatures settling back into the mid to high teens.
Coastal conditions will also remain changeable throughout the week. Stronger northerly winds are forecast to develop on Friday ahead of the approaching front, with seas building to between one and two metres before easing again later on Saturday.
