Varying weather conditions are on the horizon for South Australia. Adelaide can expect a shift from mostly sunny conditions to wetter, cooler weather as the week progresses.
Today, Adelaide will enjoy mostly sunny skies with a maximum temperature of 16 degrees. Light winds from the east will soften by the late afternoon. However, there will be a change tomorrow, as temperatures are expected to range from 6 degrees to 17 degrees, accompanied by possible showers, especially likely in the late afternoon and evening. The chance of rainfall increases to 40 per cent.
The wet conditions are expected to continue on Friday, with Adelaide experiencing showers and temperatures again peaking at 17 degrees after a morning low of 9 degrees. The likelihood of rain stands at 95 per cent, with possible rainfall volumes significantly varying from 1 mm to 15 mm throughout the day. Strong northerly winds will continue, reaching speeds up to 40 km/h, before shifting west to northwesterly.
This pattern of showers will continue across the long weekend. Sunday will be especially cool, with temperatures dipping to a maximum of 14 degrees.
A frost warning is in effect for the upcoming Wednesday morning in the Mid North, Riverland, Murraylands, Upper South East, and Lower South East forecast districts. Temperatures could drop to as low as -1 degrees. Strong wind warnings have been issued for numerous coastal districts, including the Far West Coast, Upper West Coast, and Lower West Coast, extending to Adelaide Metropolitan Waters and several other coastal areas through Thursday.
A flood warning continues for the Inland Rivers SA with ongoing high water levels, specifically impacting the Warburton River at Poothapoota Waterhole and Cooper Creek.
