Adelaide weather forecast for Wednesday March 4th and the days ahead

Happy Wednesday! Here’s the weather for March 4th and a look at what’s to come over the rest of the week and the long weekend.

Adelaide will see mostly sunny weather throughout the rest of this week, with temperatures gradually climbing into the low 30s as a ridge of high pressure maintains stable conditions across southern parts of the state.

Today, the city can expect a top of 27 degrees under mostly sunny skies, with no rainfall forecast. Light winds will become southeast to southwesterly at 15 to 25 km/h during the middle of the day, easing slightly in the evening. The UV Index is predicted to reach 10, rated Very High, with sun protection recommended between 9:40am and 5pm. Fire danger is rated Moderate in the Mount Lofty Ranges and No Rating for the Adelaide Metropolitan area.

Sunny conditions will continue tomorrow, with a minimum of 14 degrees and a maximum of 26 degrees. Winds will shift southwesterly during the early afternoon before tending southeast to southwesterly in the evening. The UV Index is again forecast to reach 10, with sun protection advised from 9:50am to 5pm.

Friday will be similarly clear, with temperatures ranging from 15 degrees to 27 degrees. Light winds will become southwesterly during the afternoon before turning southeasterly in the evening. The UV Index is forecast to reach 9, also in the Very High category.

The settled pattern extends into the weekend, with sunny conditions and temperatures rising. Saturday and Sunday are both forecast to reach 28 degrees after minimums of 15 degrees. Early next week brings a further warm-up, with 30 degrees expected on the Monday public holiday and 33 degrees on Tuesday under mostly sunny to sunny skies.

The broader state forecast indicates a ridge of high pressure persisting across the south throughout the week, moving across the Bight on Friday. A low-pressure trough lingering near the far northeast is expected to move east later in the week. Conditions across much of South Australia will remain mostly dry, though isolated showers are possible in the Lower South East and far northeast at times.

A Flood Warning remains current for inland rivers in South Australia, with flooding easing along Cooper Creek at Innamincka and elevated river levels continuing along the Warburton River. Authorities advise that many roads and access tracks remain impacted by floodwaters, particularly at river and creek crossings, and travellers are urged to check road conditions before departure. A Flood Watch is also current for parts of the state.
