According to the latest updates from the Bureau of Meteorology, Adelaide will see a mix of showers and clear skies as we move through the remainder of the week and into the next. Today, Adelaide will reach a high of 18 degrees with the possibility of showers. A medium chance of rain, most likely in the morning, has been predicted, but expected rainfall is less than 1 mm. Winds will become southwesterly from midday before easing by the evening.
Tomorrow, the city will see a mostly sunny day with a minimum of 6 degrees and a maximum of 19 degrees. The chance of rain is minimal, at 10 per cent. The weather will remain nice on Friday, reaching 19 degrees with sunny skies. Around the northern suburbs, there’ll be potential for morning frost.
The weekend will see a return of rainfall, with Saturday facing a possible shower and temperatures between 9 degrees and 21 degrees. Sunday will see showers again, and temperatures will slightly drop with highs reaching 20 degrees. The start of the next week will not stray far from this pattern, with showers expected to ease by Monday, converting to lighter showers or rain by Tuesday, as temperatures stay around 17 to 18 degrees.
Turning to statewide conditions, after a chilly start on Wednesday with frost warnings in place, South Australia is expected to see a mix of cold fronts and high-pressure systems moving through. This is likely to bring showers, particularly during the weekend and the beginning of next week, especially to southern regions.
Weather warnings have been issued for South Australia and residents in several regions should prepare for potentially hazardous conditions. A frost warning is currently in effect for the Mount Lofty Ranges, Mid North, Riverland, Murraylands, Upper South East, and Lower South East forecast districts. Severe frosts with temperatures down to -3 degrees, which can cause significant crop damage, are forecast for Wednesday morning.
A flood warning has been issued for inland rivers, particularly with elevated river levels at Poothapoota Waterhole on the Warburton River and at Cullyamurra Waterhole on Cooper Creek. Localised flooding might affect roads and access tracks, disrupting travel across the area.
