For the rest of the week, Adelaide will see partly cloudy days with temperatures peaking around 19 degrees, according to the latest report from the Bureau of Meteorology. Today, the city will see a maximum temperature of 18 degrees with cloudy skies throughout the day. Winds are forecast to be light, increasing to 15 to 20 km/h from the south around midday before easing in the evening.
Tomorrow will see a minimum temperature of 9 degrees and a maximum of 19 degrees, with partly cloudy skies. It will be a similar story on Friday, with the potential for morning fog, particularly in the northern suburbs. A slight chance of showers is also expected as winds from the southeasterly direction blow at 15 to 20 km/h.
Over the weekend, Adelaide will continue to see partly cloudy conditions with Saturday expected to have a cooler start at 6 degrees, warming up to 19 degrees by the afternoon. Sunday will bring slightly warmer weather with a minimum of 8 degrees and a maximum of 19 degrees, and mostly sunny conditions.
This week, the weather across South Australia is largely influenced by a low-pressure system moving eastwards from Tasmania and a stationary high-pressure system over the waters south of the Bight. This is contributing to below-average temperatures across the region, especially in the north.
Scattered showers are also anticipated over the far northeast of South Australia and along windward coasts and ranges through the end of the week. Cumulative rainfall totals are expected to be less than 2 mm in most southern agricultural areas, with heavier rainfall near the Northern Territory border.
There is also a current flood warning in effect for the inland rivers of South Australia. The Bureau of Meteorology has reported that floodwaters are flowing into Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre via the Warburton River, affecting areas such as Poothapoota Waterhole and the Cooper Creek at Walkers Crossing and Coongie Lakes.
