As spring continues to unfold, Adelaide is in for a cool and partly cloudy midweek according to the Bureau of Meteorology. A mix of sunshine and showers is expected to shape conditions across the city, with temperatures sitting comfortably around the 20 degrees mark.

Today, Adelaide will reach a maximum of 20 degrees, with a high chance of showers about the hills and southern suburbs, and a medium chance elsewhere. Light early winds will shift from north to northwesterly at 15 to 25 km/h, before turning westerly at 20 to 30 km/h in the late morning and early afternoon. The result is a mild but brisk day, perfect for a jacket and an umbrella on standby.

Looking ahead, Thursday will see similar conditions with temperatures staying at 20 degrees and a medium chance of showers, particularly during the morning and early afternoon. Winds will increase to 25 to 35 km/h from the west, making for another breezy day.

By Friday, the pattern of showers persists with a high chance of rain about the hills and southern suburbs and a top of 21 degrees. Winds will pick up further, starting northwesterly at 25 to 40 km/h and swinging westerly through the morning before easing slightly in the afternoon.

The weekend won’t bring a major reprieve. Saturday’s forecast sits at 20 degrees with a 50% chance of showers, while Sunday cools slightly to 19 degrees with only a possible light shower. By Monday, the skies are expected to clear, bringing a bright 21 degrees and the return of sunshine.

The Bureau has also issued strong wind warnings for parts of South Australia’s coastline. Today, warnings are in effect for the South Central Coast, Upper South East Coast, and Lower South East Coast. Tomorrow, a Gale Warning will be in place for the Lower South East Coast, with strong wind warnings also extending to the Lower West Coast, Central Coast, South Central Coast, Investigator Strait, and Upper South East Coast.

Across the wider state, showers and isolated thunderstorms may develop over coastal and southern regions before gradually easing later in the week.
