Adelaide weekend weather forecast for Friday January 10th and the weekend ahead

Adelaide expects a sunny and warm weekend with temperatures peaking at 32 degrees, coinciding with a severe heatwave warning across other parts of South Australia.

The weekend is nearly here, and Adelaidians can expect sunny weather over the next few days, according to the latest forecasts issued by the Bureau of Meteorology. The forecast indicates clear skies with little chance of rain, setting the stage for a warm and dry weekend.

For the remainder of Friday, Adelaide will experience sunny conditions with maximum temperatures soaring up to 32 degrees. There is zero percent chance of rainfall today. Winds are expected to be light early in the day, becoming south to southwesterly at 15 to 25 km/h by midday, and then shifting to southeasterly at 15 to 20 km/h in the evening.

The weather on Saturday January 11th, will remain mostly sunny with morning temperatures starting at 17 degrees, reaching a peak of 32 degrees later in the day. The likelihood of any precipitation remains very low at 5 percent. Light winds in the morning will increase to west to southwesterly at 15 to 25 km/h around noon and are predicted to strengthen further to southeast to southwesterly 20 to 30 km/h by late afternoon.

Sunday January 12th continues the trend with sunny skies and a high of 31 degrees after a mild overnight low of 18 degrees. The forecasted chance of rain is slightly higher at 10 percent. Winds will maintain a pattern of increasing from south to southwesterly at 15 to 25 km/h during the day before diminishing in the evening.

In a broader context, South Australia faces a severe heatwave warning effective through Sunday January 12th. This severe heatwave warning specifically targets the North West Pastoral District, advising residents to prepare for significantly high temperatures.

The weather situation across South Australia is influenced by a high-pressure system situated east of Tasmania. This system will persistently extend a ridge south of the state until early Saturday, with a low-pressure trough moving northeastwards during Friday. Over the weekend, another high is set to travel across waters to the south and then move south of Tasmania early next week ahead of a trough anticipated to cross South Australia on Tuesday.

Apart from Adelaide’s sunny weekend forecast, regions in the far west of South Australia might encounter showers and thunderstorms on Saturday. There is also a potential for rain and thunderstorms about the southeast during the afternoon and evening of the same day. The southeast and far northwest parts of the state may see some showers or thunderstorms on Sunday afternoon.

The forecast suggests that while coastal temperatures may stay near or slightly below average, inland areas will experience above-average temperatures. This weather pattern includes southeast to northeasterly winds, accompanied by fresh sea breezes in the afternoon.
