The Adelaide Youth Theatre company is looking for 40 of South Australia’s strongest young vocalists to star in their latest production.
The theatre troop is looking for vocalists aged 15 to 23 to audition for a role in their production of the iconic musical, Les Misérables.
The production will take place in January 2020 and will mark the start of the Adelaide Youth Theatre’s tenth anniversary season.
The performing arts school is hopes that this open casting call will not only mark the return of some Adelaide Youth Theatre alumni but will also see some outstanding new talent taking the stage.
Written by French novelist, Victor Hugo, Les Miserables was originally a book before it was adapted into a musical by playwrights Alain Boublil and Jean-Marc Natel.
With productions on Broadway and London’s the West End as well as a 2012 movie adaption, Les Misérables is often regarded as one of the most challenging and exciting pieces of musical theatre ever written for vocalists.
The Adelaide Youth Theatre believes this experience will be an incredibly rewarding learning experience for young performers.
