Adelaide Zombie Walk Returns For Its Final Year

Adelaide’s most unique community event, the Zombie Walk is almost here. Celebrate the seminal charity event as they approach their final ever walk.

Adelaide’s funnest and most unique community event is back for its tenth year to raise funds for Foodbank SA, this weekend.

We love a good fancy dress party, and we love it even more when its for a good cause. This Saturday it’s time to roam the streets of Adelaide with the dead whilst raising much-needed funds for the charity who help South Australians in need.

Family friendly may not be the first thing that jumps to mind with the word “Zombie” is mentioned, but the walk is fun for all ages. It’s a free event, however donations towards the charity are encouraged.

The day of the dead starts at 3pm in Rundle Park, with best dressed competitions beginning at 5pm and the 1.7km walk itself commencing at 7pm. Come dressed as a zombie or just come along to watch!

In its tenth and final year, Adelaide Zombie Walk are pulling out all the stops to make this the best year yet.

DJ JoSH Adelaide will be pumping out the tunes all day and night and if you get the Zombie munchies then there’ll be plenty of food and drink market stalls to keep you marching on. Plus, multiple venues in the city will be ‘zombie friendly’ for the night, offering great drink specials.

After 10 years and 11 Zombie Walks, it’s time for walk organisers, Ann and Jason Bansemer, to hang up their zombie walking boots. Ann and Jason took over the Adelaide Zombie Walk in 2009 and the numbers have grown over the years from just a few hundred zombies to more than 15,000 in 2018.

Donations can be made at any Savers store and Bendigo Bank Parabanks. You can purchase $10 wristbands at Savers and on the day. You MUST have a wristband to enter the best dressed competition.

The Zombie Walk will take place on Saturday October 12. Find more event details here
