My daughter turned 7 in April, while we were in self-isolation at home. It left me scrambling for ways in which to make her birthday seem special, even though we had to cancel her party at Tree Climb, and she couldn’t see her friends. What I needed was a list of options to choose from, and because isolating at home was still all so new, there wasn’t one. But I’ve now had the chance to sit down and make this list for you, so hopefully you have make your child’s special day, one to remember – for all the right reasons!
Virtual Parties
There’s now a stack of great options for virtual parties in Adelaide. You can choose from:

AFL Max Virtual Parties
Even though my daughter isn’t an AFL fan, we actually booked one of these parties, as they were really flexible about what happening during the party. It was also the only virtual party on offer at the time so they were life savers for us! If your child is an AFL fan though, they can even invite an AFL player along!
Scarlett had 10 guests, and they had quizzes, challenges, dance offs, and more. The kids had a great time and they really enjoyed seeing each other up on the screen (we used an HDMI cable and plugged the laptop into the TV so our kids could see the other guests nice and large).
The AFL Max Virtual Parties are $150 and run for 50 minutes. They are recommended for 10 guests (but you can invite up to 15 guests).

- $130 – Birthday Shout Out – A player from your AFL Team will send through a personalised video message for the birthday child to be played during the party.
- $250 – LIVE Q+A Session – A player will join the party and interact with the group – party guests are encouraged to ask the player questions.

Star Academy Virtual Parties
The team over at Star Academy will throw your child a themed party online via zoom, hosted by a character of your choice with a background to suit. The best thing about these parties, is that they’ve basically given you the option to have EVERYTHING done for you including catering, party bags and more.
The 50 minute parties are jam packed with personalised invitations, themed character, dancing, singing, games, photos and come with Party Bags delivered to the Host Family to distribute to friends – or let them do the work for you!!
You can also add cupcakes, Iso Party Box and or a personalised balloon delivered to your door.
They even take it as far as organising party grazing boxes as well (party food delivered to your door).
Party bookings can be made through the website – with all instructions sent to the host family to send out to family and friends. Pick your character, time, date, select options, and they will do the rest for you!!
Iso Kids Party Boxes
Whether you’re holding a Star Academy virtual party, or you just want some party fun, you can order an ISO PARTY BOX. These are themed boxes filled with everything you need to host for a mini party at home – themed cups, plates, cups, decorations and little favours. Send to a friend – or to your child!
They can customise these or you can choose from the following themes – Frozen – Ballerina – Disney Princess – Unicorn- Moana – Superhero – Disco

Send a Princess to your Door
Select a Princess/Character, select a time, princess will ring the doorbell and sing a special happy birthday to the birthday girl and boy (of course they have social distancing covered), character will interact with the birthday girl/boy learn something in relation to the character – ie. a little dance or some superhero moves, they will have an opportunity to take photos of the characters before they leave.
Virtual Slime Party
Bop till you Drop are now hosting Virtual Slime Party! This particular party style is aimed at kids aged 8-12 years old, and each party will be tailored to suit the age, gender and interests of the kids.
It’s $99 for 30 minutes, or for Slime & Disco (60 minutes) it’s $159.
What to expect:
- Your entertainer will conduct a structured party where they will be interacting with the birthday child and special guests. All the children will get to say a special message to the birthday child. And of course they will make sure the birthday child feels extra special.
- In the first half of the party the children will learn how to make two lots of slime: a) Fluffy Slime and b) Cloudy Slime.
- In the second half of the party the entertainer will conduct a Disco Party were they will teach the children cool dance moves and play fun party games. (For 30 minute parties they might not get to the dancing part, but they will try.)
- Of course they also sing happy birthday and cut the cake together.

For the younger kids (and those young at heart) there’s also virtual plaster parties you can host at home! Aimed for 4-12 year olds, these parties are also tailored to suit the age, gender and interests of the children.
What they do:
- The Bop till you Drop Professional Entertainer will be interacting with the birthday child and all their guests. The children will get to say a special message to the birthday child and of course they will make sure the birthday child feels extra special.
- In the first half of the party they will teach the children how to paint the plasters, as well as tips on what colours mix well and the best paint strokes to try.
- In the second half the entertainer will conduct a disco party where they will teach the children cool dance moves and play a variety of party games.
- Everyone will sing happy birthday and cut the cake together.
- PLUS the children will receive 30 mins of FREE TALK TIME at the end.

- A variety of flat and 3D great quality plasters. These are an additional $6.00 each. Plus $5.00 for individual paint.

The Scientific Bubble Show Virtual Party
Marty McBubble’s Online Children’s Parties are great for birthday celebrations, as well as for any occasion where children and families would like a fun way to catch up with their friends.
Marty will host the whole ZOOM party for you. Along with the child’s parent, he will welcome guests onto the Zoom Platform and help them with any technical issues. Friends and family anywhere in the world can attend the party, as long as they have an internet connection and a laptop, tablet or mobile phone.
Marty’s Scientific Bubble Show will be broadcast live into all of your guest’s houses from his performance studio in Adelaide. And his incredible bubble creations will be broadcast in 1080p High Definition video.
And even though Marty presents his show from afar, his show is highly interactive. Marty will converse with the whole group, and with individual children during the show, as he demonstrates the incredible science, wonder and fun of bubbles.

And Marty has plenty of great gags to go along with his bubbles that are sure to keep everyone laughing!
And for Birthday Parties, Marty and the child’s parent will co-ordinate the birthday cake lighting and singing of Happy Birthday. Guests are asked to also have a mini cake with one candle ready, and when all of these candles are burning together on the Zoom screen it looks amazing, and is a very special moment for the birthday child.
Marty will then link the child’s parent up with each guest family individually so you can speak to each other and say any thankyous and well wishes. Often the party will finish up at that point, but Marty can extend the party if the host family and guests would like to stay connected and chat for longer.
Marty takes all possible steps to ensure his Zoom parties are secure, and that only invited people can join the party. He also sends out the Zoom link only one hour before the party commencement time for this reason.
