Lord Mayor Stephen Yarwood will announce and present the City of Adelaide 2011 Australia Day Awards at the Adelaide Town Hall on Wednesday morning.
The Awards will be presented to local citizens or groups that have made a significant contribution in 2010 or given outstanding service to the local community over a number of years.
The three award categories are Community Event of the Year Award, Young Citizen of the Year Award and Citizen of the Year Award.
“Australia Day is all about celebrating the Australian spirit and recognising those within our community that really make a difference,” Stephen said.
Nominees had to be Australian Citizens who either worked or resided in the City of Adelaide. Community Events nominees must have been wholly or partially hosted with the City.
