Hains & Co

Nautical vibes with great booze on deck too, Hains & Co’s cocktail selection is sure to lift your spirits. This place is a gin and rum lover’s haven, and each cocktail has been expertly crafted with these spirits to give you and your crew an unforgettable taste experience (unless you have a few too many…).

Hains & Co’s current ‘rum of the month’ is their Mount Gay, Barbados rum which they’ve crafted into a delicious daiquiri. Or, if gin is more your poison, this month’s gin is the Memo gin from Melbourne, which is paired with a Cascade indian tonic and dehydrated orange.

Maybe Mae

Tucked away in a basement on Peel Street, Maybe Mae isn’t the easiest bar to find. But trust us, with a unique assortment of aromatic, zesty cocktails, seeking this place out is definitely worth it. Maybe Mae also landed six of their bartenders on the Top 100 Australian Bartender list for 2019, so you know your drinks are in good hands.

If you’re looking for great taste for great value, you can’t go wrong with the bar’s signature gin and juice. The smooth gin fused with distinct fruity notes is only $10 – how’s that for a bargain?

2KW

Towering high above the streets of Adelaide’s CBD, this rooftop bar boasts a tantalising beverage menu filled with fruity flavours and a few spicy twists.

2KW’s signature cocktail, appropriately titled ‘The 2KW’, is a sweet blend of gin, peach, pear, honey and white wine. A visit to 2KW without grabbing one of these bad boys is an incomplete venture.

West At Henley

This intimate setting is the perfect place to take a date to impress, and the quirky drinks will have you chatting away for hours. Located above Melt Pizzeria, this beachside hotspot hosts a well rounded cocktail list.

A classic West cocktail creation is their Fruit Loop Colada, a tropical blend of rum, pineapple, coconut and lime with a generous fruit loop garnish.

Malt & Juniper

Another Peel Street gem, Malt & Juniper’s moody, botanical vibes are an ode to the classic cocktail bars of days gone by. Their cosy booths are the perfect place to sink deep into whilst sipping on their extensive signature juniper gin and malt whiskey creations.

Orsa + Willmott’s Gastronomia

Located in a century-old heritage building in the heart of Adelaide’s Eastern suburbs, this business hybrid is complete with charming character and a cosy atmosphere. Perfect for casual drinks or a family gathering, Orsa + Willmott’s has a negroni blend for every occasion.

They’re signature beverage ‘Private Willmott’ is the perfect medium between a spritz and a negroni. It’s made with Antica formula, Calvados, Campari, housemade whiskey marmalade, and topped with soda to finish.

We all need a little bit of bottle therapy at the end of a long week, and Peel Street’s Therapy bar is always ready to offer a helping hand. With a list of over 100 cocktails to try, there’s plenty on offer to help drown the sorrows from the week just passed.

Treat yourself to a timeless classic Old Fashioned, which sees Makers Mark bourbon stirred with sugar and bitters. Or, try the modern signature ‘Smoke on the Guava’, a blend of Bacardi Carta Blanca, lime, guava, cashew orgeat and peated spritz.

Another Peel Street gem, Paloma Bar and Pantry is a light and breezy venue with a southern European twist. With a focus on all things ‘clean and fresh’, Paloma’s cocktail selections are the perfect thing to kick off your excitement for the warmer spring weather ahead.

The self-titled ‘Paloma’ cocktail is a customer favourite and, with its delicate blend of tequila, housemade grapefruit cordial, gin and prosecco, we’re not surprised.

Bar Torino

If you’re looking for a trendy European-style venue for your weekend night out, Bar Torino is it. With exposed brick walls and an open floor plan that expands into an outdoor terrace, this place just oozes cool. And the cocktails are no exception. Bar Torino’s exclusive drinks menu evolves with the seasons, so there’s always new creations to indulge in.

Some bartender favourites include the Whisky and Fluffy Apple, a bourbon, green apple and pepper fusion, and a Chilled Irish Coffee, with Irish whiskey, cold brew, honey and cream.

Hades Hula House

Looking to experience a tropical island getaway without leaving the city? Hades Hula House is the place for you. This tiki paradise is decked out cabana-style with an exotic haystack thatched roofing and woven bar seating.

Of course, in true tiki fashion, rum is the drink of choice in this beachy hideaway, and all of the fruity cocktails on their menu really let this spirit shine. Served in tall, carved glasses with vibrant umbrella garnishes, the drinks here will give you island vibes for days.

The Bibliotheca Bar and Book Exchange

Combining our love of a good drink with our love of a good read, The Bibliotheca Bar and Book Exchange offers a match made in boozy bookworm heaven. Nestled between an impressive selection of books, this cosy city venue is part bar part library.

Appropriately on-theme, each cocktail on their vast menu is inspired by a classic novel. Enjoy the Hobbit themed ‘MY PRECIOUS’, which fuses Feijoa, kiwi, lime and hopped beer together for a drink to really obsess over. Or channel your inner wizard with ‘The Drink That Shall Not Be Named’ – a sweet and savoury potion of whiskey, butterscotch and a pumpkin fizz.
