Adelaide foodies, this one is for you! The annual Vegan Palooza is returning this July to bring you the best plant-based-bites you’ve ever had.
Here to bust the age-old myth that Vegan food is boring or limited, the Vegan Palooza aims to showcase over 30 delicious food stalls ranging from doughnuts, burgers and even yiros by the iconic Staazi & Co to warm your bellies as the cooler weather begins to roll in.
Festival Director & Coordinator, Lea McBride, is ecstatic to bring this event back to Adelaide and embrace the evident global shift in food culture.
“Vegan Palooza was originally formed as a spin-off to the Vegan Festival, however, this event is solely based on the food and creating an unforgettable experience,” Lea said.
“This event is definitely for passionate foodies, the event space will hold around 35 food and drink vendors all full of incredibly delicious and unique vegan creations, our last event saw 3,500 people come through over the weekend, it’s a hit!”
The Vegan Palooza is still in its planning stages as a full list of vendors hasn’t been announced yet, although event-goers can look forward to mock meats, mock beers and wines and the trendiest creations you can think of.
“Vegan-curious people of all age brackets can expect to explore their taste buds at this event, we’ve had many people come through with no knowledge of vegan food and walk away enamoured.”
Did you know that there are thousands of edible plants available in the world? Well, our talented food creators here in SA will be using these green gems to create something special for everyone to enjoy.
The global food industry is clambering to keep up with the rapidly growing demand for vegan food, driven by the increasing awareness of animal rights, environmental and health benefits of a plant-based diet.
This change can be seen through the rise of alternative options such as ‘mock’ meats and zero-alcohol beverages. As people participate in trends such as ‘Dry July’ and ‘Don’t Mock Me’, there is set to be plenty of vendors on site offering alternatives to your favourite pub drinks and feeds.
Cherry Darlings will be joining the lineup for this event as they say goodbye to the community they have fed and loved for almost a decade, while it is sad to see some businesses go, we are grateful that they existed and paved the way in the vegan movement.
