This huge Cinco De Mayo Celebration will take place over three days this May, promising to be the biggest and brightest fiesta of Mexican culture Adelaide has seen.
Staged at Morphettville Racecourse, it will be a colourful carnival of all things Mexican, including Lucha Libre Mexican wrestling, Mariachi music, Mariachi kids’ performance, traditional Mexican dancers, Mexican beers & cocktails, delicious Mexican food and mucho vegan options.
There is more to this popular holiday than mariachi bands, margaritas and huge parties, this event celebrates Mexican culture, pride and values.
Cinco De Mayo is a holiday that celebrates the Mexican army’s victory over France at the Battle of Puebla which took place during the Franco-Mexican War in 1862, this is also referred to as the ‘Battle of Puebla Day’.
Cinco De Mayo is a day of celebration of Mexican culture and heritage, this event is often mistaken for Mexico’s Independence Day in the United States, but Mexican independence is celebrated in September.
In Mexico, this popular holiday is often celebrated by historical re-enactments of the Battle of Puebla, parades, mariachi music, incredible costumes and fireworks.
