Adelaide’s Favourite Gelato & Cheese Unite In Delicious Collaboration

The City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters’ Food Secrets of Glynde just got tastier with a new collaboration from two of its favourite food manufacturers, Gelato Bello and La Casa Del Formaggio.

The City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters’ Food Secrets of Glynde just got tastier with a new collaboration from two of its favourite food manufacturers, Gelato Bello and La Casa Del Formaggio.

In March 2018, the businesses launched their first collaboration with the limited edition gelato, Ricotta with blueberry & almond, featuring the flagship product of La Casa Del Formaggio.

Mayor Robert Bria said the Council was thrilled to see that the Food Secrets initiative has established mutually beneficial business relationships within the area.

“The Council’s Food Secrets of Glynde initiative throws a spotlight on the City’s renowned food manufacturing district and some of its hidden treasures, tastes and flavours.

“It makes perfect sense that these world-class manufacturers look to each other for quality produce and bring together family recipes steeped in history.”

Both South Australian and family owned, Gelato Bello and La Casa del Formaggio embody southern Italian traditions in Australian made products.

Brad Halliday, owner of Gelato Bello, said that the relationships he has formed with neighbouring food manufacturers have been invaluable.

“Through the Food Secrets initiative, we’ve had the opportunity to connect with and learn from other local food manufacturers which is now progressing into these great partnerships and collaborations.”

Brad is also confident that the Food Secrets of Glynde and Stepney monthly food tours have put local hidden treasures on the map.

“The Food Secrets tours have brought hundreds of people through our doors over the last year, the experience rivalling that of other South Australian wine and produce regions, but only 20 minutes from the CBD.”

Both Gelato Bello and La Casa del Formaggio set the benchmark high when it comes to quality, authentic Italian produce.

The Ricotta with blueberry and almond gelato captures the subtle flavour and creamy texture of La Casa del Formaggio’s traditional ricotta, fusing it with almonds, an Italian favourite, and the fresh twist of blueberry.

The Ricotta, Blueberry and Almond gelato will be available during March from Gelato Bello stores at Semaphore and Glynde.
