Adelaide is set to welcome the New Year with a spectacular celebration at the Riverbank in Elder Park. The city’s official New Year’s Eve event, a much-anticipated annual gathering, promises a lively evening filled with sensational live music, electrifying fireworks, and entertainment suited for attendees of all ages.

The 2024 New Year’s Eve extravaganza will be held in its traditional and historic location of Elder Park, also known as Murlawirrapurka, beginning at 5:30pm on 31st December. With entry from King William Road, the venue can accommodate up to 25,000 people at any given time.

This year, inspired by the successful return to Elder Park last year, the event will feature a main stage with non-stop live music performances, a family-friendly zone bustling with activities, a circus stage, and roving performances to keep the crowd engaged and entertained throughout the night.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a picnic blanket and enjoy a riverside picnic under the stars or find a prime spot to watch the fireworks, which are scheduled for 9pm and again at the stroke of midnight to ring in the New Year. The event continues to be a free-entry celebration, ensuring accessibility to all who wish to join in the festivities.

Itt is recommended to bring a debit or credit card as all purchases at the event, including food and drinks, will be through EFTPOS in keeping with the event’s cashless policy. Guests are also advised to bring refillable water bottles, sun protection for the earlier hours, and warm clothing for the cooler evening breeze.

Adelaide’s NYE 2024 will make special provisions for accessibility, with an Accessible Area designed for attendees who might need it. Registration for this area is mandatory and must be completed by 5pm on the 27th December 2024. Actual attendance in this area will be confirmed only after communication from event staff. The registration link can be found via the link below.

The evening’s entertainment lineup features the comedy and hosting talent of MC Lori Bell, who will open the night’s festivities. The schedule is packed with diverse performances, including the rhythmic Mudra Dance, local sensations The 60 Four, and the dynamic Purple Monkey. The evening will also host a unique segment called BICONS featuring artists Millicent Sarre, Jemma Allen, and Ned Halliday. As midnight approaches, ‘The Cast’ will lead the countdown, culminating in the midnight fireworks display followed by further musical performances until the event closes at 1am.

With no re-entry pass outs available once attendees leave the site, all are encouraged to plan their evening wisely to make the most of Adelaide’s NYE 2024 celebrations. An unforgettable night awaits at the heart of Adelaide, promising a safe, enjoyable, and memorable start to the New Year.
