Fluffy, cream-topped pancake delicacies? Count us in!

Adelaide’s Famous Poffertjes Parlour is popping up at the Adelaide Central Market’s Producer in Residence stall starting Tuesday, August 24. The sweet treat will remain in the northwestern corner of Adelaide’s popular market for three weeks, finishing its tenancy on the 11th of September.

Intended to showcase local, artisan producers, the Producer in Residence stall is always a much-loved addition to the CBD foodie destination, and with the upcoming vendor serving meals this decadent, we can’t wait to get our sugary fill.

Poffertjes are a traditional, Dutch dessert resembling small, fluffy pancakes that’s often served with whipped cream, cinnamon sugar, lemon, and butter. Some of the toppings on offer include sour cream and rum butter.

The stall will also serve up oliebollen––Dutch fried dough donuts––on Fridays and Saturdays.

While Adelaide’s Famous Poffertjes Parlour is next popping up at the Adelaide Central Market, it was previously a beloved stall at the Royal Adelaide Show, serving traditional Poffertjes to patrons since 1971. However, the parlour isn’t coming to the Royal Show this year, so they hope this new spot will make up for that absence.

“This annual pop up will hopefully make up for our not any longer being at the Royal Show,” they share on social media.

“Get excited!”
