Adelaide has made quite a name for itself in recent years rivalling the bigger cities in terms of fine dining and festivals and now, we’re stepping up the plate with the addition of another F word to our repertoire.

It’s no secret that we, the people of Adelaide, are fashionistas at heart with labels such as The Wolf Gang, Acler and of course, the world-renowned Paolo Sebastian all hailing from our fair state.

But for those who love nothing more than a perfectly styled outfit or eyeing off the latest trends, Adelaide’s retail sector has let them down with an uninspiring and almost dismal range of choice when it comes to in-store, designer shopping. In fact, most South Australian savvy shoppers opt to go interstate when they’re in need of a wardrobe refresh.

If this is you, then you’ll be pleased to know that fashion is the next sector about to get a major boost in Adelaide with Rundle Street East set to become home to some major designer stores.

Luxury label Viktoria & Woods will open its first South Australian-based store in the coming months with the store currently finalising the design and fit-out. Predicted to open in late July, it will become the 11th boutique store for the brand in Australia.

A cult favourite among fashion-lovers, Viktoria & Woods was founded by Melbourne designer Margie Woods back in 2004 and is all designed and made in Australia. The label boasts an impressive sustainability profile with all textiles and manufacturing methods chosen purposely to tread as lightly as possible.

Joining the modern feel of Viktoria & Woods will be Australian Fashion royalty, Carla Zampatti. The legacy of the late Australian icon has continued through her designs with a new store opening along Rundle Street later this year.

The addition of two world-class designer stores in Adelaide has many hoping this is just the beginning of high-end fashion retail in the state.

More details are due to be released in the coming weeks. To keep up to date with all the happenings along Rundle Street East, follow along on Facebook.
