Adelaide’s first Yorkshire pudding themed cafe is open on Pirie St

In as many words of the Queen’s English that we can muster, we are here to tell you that there is a Yorkshire themed cafe coming to Adelaide.

Pirie Street’s newest resident, a themed cafe commemorating the ethos that makes England a worldwide foodie conundrum, has arrived.

What ethos you ask? While not the clearest definition of the Queen’s English, in this case, ethos being the Yorkshire pudding, fish and chips slathered with vinegar, the full English brekkie, mashed peas and potatoes, black pudding (sausage made out of congealed blood), and other English favourites.

Said English have truly succeeded in taking common food and elevating them to a cultural significance not unrecognised by the world.

Now, these delightful (and at times confusing) dishes have landed straight on to Pirie Street, with Adelaide’s first Yorkshire themed takeaway cafe, British Food Indulge.

As it’s not a pub dating back hundreds of years with enough historical significance to compete with our dearest tourism sights, the cafe will be serving the Yorkshire pudding with modern twists.

Expect a variety of creative options for the Yorkshire Pudding roast pork, sirloin steak wrap with accompaniments, and the Yorkshire Pudding grilled chicken or beef burger.

Don’t fear, the traditional roast beef Yorkshire pudding take will always be prized, as well as a one-flavoured Yorkshire pudding, with either chives, rosemary or mint.

British Food Indulge will open its doors on Thursday 1 October, with a free Yorkshire pudding giveaway, and bagpipe entertainment.

Find the takeaway cafe at 6 Pirie Street, Adelaide.
