Kite lovers will be heading to the northern suburbs of Adelaide on the 7th of January when the ‘Kite Flying Festival Adelaide’, soars into St Kilda.
Sydney resident Kaushal Parikh who is the Event Organiser of the Kite Flying Festival Adelaide says he wanted to create an event for the whole family to get involved in.
“This is the first time we have done it in Adelaide, we have previously done it in different parts of NSW for some time so we thought let’s go to a different place,” Kaushal says.
“It’s something for families to do in January where it can be a bit quiet in Adelaide.
“There’ll also be entertainment for the whole family, fun activities and rides for the kids, live music, food and much more!
“There are international kite festivals that happen, but there is more of a show and spectacle with massive kites at those things.
“The Kite Flying Festival Adelaide is more for beginners and people of all ages, so it’s more fun and suited to families.”
What’s better? Well, afterwards the kids will have a ball at the iconic, St Kilda Adventure Playground.
The playground features many slides, a castle, bouncy boomerang, yellow submarine play area, swings, flying foxes and a basketball court. It also has a picnic area and barbecue facilities.
The Kite Flying Festival is FREE to enter, but registration is required so that they can make necessary arrangements and assist the caterers as well.
