Boomstars is made up of four young South Australian entertainers, Elyse, Talia, Jaime and Joshua who perform funky songs for kids together with energetic dance routines.
Formed in April 2013, the vibrant group is the brain child of singing director Ghita Prey and South Australian entrepreneur Richard Turner.
“We believe there’s a gap in the music industry for children aged 5 to 10 years with most children entertainers focussing on pre-schoolers,” said Mr Turner.
“Boomstars appeals to a wider audience, embracing all genres of modern music with our catchy, fun songs that will have even the parents dancing in their seats.”
The Boomstars debut single ‘Dancin’ from their forthcoming album ‘Here We Go’ has gone number one on the National ReverbNation children’s music chart.
The song and accompanying video clip has caught the eye of the music industry with the group also nominated for a prestigious Musicoz Australian Independent Music Award in the People’s Choice and Music Video categories to be announced in Sydney on November 7.
“We’ve been amazed by the meteoric rise of Boomstars in such a short time. It truly is an honour to be nominated for this industry award among some of Australia’s brightest and emerging musical talent,” said Ms Prey.
On the back of their debut concert at the Gov in Adelaide, Boomstars have also unleashed the latest dance craze ‘Platypusmania’.
“Platypusmania brings together hip-swinging moves and a great tune which has captured the imagination of our young audiences,” said Ms Prey.
The group’s next major concert is scheduled for New Year’s Eve at Glenelg – in front of tens of thousands of people.
The Boomstars songs are available to buy on Itunes.
