Adelaide’s Most Decadent Breakfasts To Comfort Your Winter Hunger

There’s something in the icy Autumn-Winter air that makes us hungry, and we are hungry for Adelaide’s most decadent and delicious breakfasts.

The sunshine is disappearing, the clouds are out and we are cold. There’s something in the icy Autumn-Winter air that makes us hungry, and we are hungry for Adelaide’s most decadent and delicious breakfasts.

Now is the time we rug up and venture out into the soon to be shocking cold weather and treat ourselves. Because, why not? Think – rich pancakes, waffles, bacon, maple syrup, chocolate, pulled pork. We’ve got vegans and gluten-free covered too because everyone needs to indulge once in a while.

Here’s our guide to Adelaide’s most deliciously decadent breakfast and brunch item that are absolutely sure to curb your grumbling Winter belly.

1. Caffiend Coffee Company – Snickers Pancakes

These gluten-free almond pancakes are topped with a dollop of chocolate ice cream, drizzled in maple peanut butter caramel, sprinkled with honey toasted nuts, roasted peanuts, pretzels and of course, a Snickers Mini tops it all off. Did I mention it’s available gluten free too?! Located in Hahndorf in the Adelaide Hills, you’ll see and feel all the Winter vibes and they’ll vibe you right into Caffiend for this dish.

2. CREAM – Hotcakes with fried chicken and bacon

This American themed breakfast (is it breakfast?) consisting of a generous stack of hotcakes, topped with fried chicken, layered with bacon and drizzled with maple syrup. You have to be starving to finish this big ol’ stack, but, just like other CREAM breakfast items, it looks delicious.

3. Commissary – Pancakes and Malteaser Waffles

How epic does this Malteaser Waffle stack look?! Topped with fairy floss, drizzled in chocolate and a side of bacon added…this is one decadent brekkie. Pancakes topped with ice cream, fairy floss and fresh fruit is refreshingly simple, yet deliciously scrumptious.

4. 303 By The Sea – Polenta Waffles with Chicken

Latin fried chicken sitting on top of corn and polenta waffles, drizzled in maple syrup and topped with greens (it balances it out, ok?). Opposite, thickly sliced french toast with crunchy pepitas and thinly sliced apple. Pair it with a healthy juice and your Winter appetite is sorted. Trust me, it’s scientific.

5. FRED Eatery – Reuben Sandwich

This Reuben Sandwich had made a permanent move to their brekkie menu. Made with corned beef, sauerkraut, pickles, swiss cheese and toasted light rye bread, this savoury savour will fill your cravings with the rich centre.

7. 50SIXONE – Nutella Burrito

I think we all know what 50SIXONE is capable of. They are king and queen of decadent desserts, and who said desserts aren’t suitable for breakfast? They have whipped up a Nutella Burrito topped with Bueno chocolate bars and some refreshing and healthy strawberries. This is definitely one to share.

8. The Store – Breakfast Bagel Burger

Bagel, bacon, cheese… need I say more? Bagel lovers will devour this decadent breakfast creation by The Store in North Adelaide. It has fresh veggies so its pretty much a balanced meal and can be enjoyed as one too. Savoury can be decadent too!

9. Argos – Pulled Pork Benedict

I mean, you can see the thickness of the fresh ciabatta bread. The pork is tender and juicy and drenched in a rich hollandaise sauce with perfectly poached eggs. If this isn’t a decadent savoury combo, I don’t know what is. Enjoy this one meat lovers.

10. Swedish Tarts – Vegan Chocolate Pancakes

Vegans can enjoy a decadent meal, too. Swedish Tarts have rich chocolate pancakes topped in syrup, fresh fruit, edible flowers and toasted nuts. A perfect amount of fruit to pancake if you ask me, the office vegan who would happily eat this deliciousness.
