Gotta work or just need some ‘me time’ these holidays?
Woodhouse Activity Centre, which is 10 minutes up the freeway in the Adelaide Hills, and the home to the famous tube slides, has launched their October School Holiday program AND IT’S EPIC!
Woodhouse ‘kids only’ Day Camps offer a different theme each day so you can book in for 1 day, 3 days or all 10, knowing that each day there will be something new for your 5-12 year old to discover all while exploring the 54 hectare natural wonderland!
From the much-loved tube slides to campfires, obstacle course, bouldering, giant maze, outdoor laser skirmish and nature-based activities, there are stacks of amazing activities for the kids.
JUST $70 PER DAY covers:
- Full facilitation (1:9 staff to child ratio) – drop off for 9am start, pick up at 5pm
- Entry to the property and use of onsite activities and equipment
- Every day includes time on Challenge Hill obstacle course (with different sections and twists each day) and a private Tube Slide session (weather permitting)
- One very good night’s sleep from a very exhausted (and happy) child
- A lifetime of memories, having made new friends and developed new skills

TUESDAY 4 OCTOBER – GALAXY QUEST
Welcome, astronauts. After years of training, you have been selected for the galaxy quest. We only take the best, so prepare yourself for the ultimate mission! You may encounter anything from black holes to aliens – be careful out there…
Program highlights (but not limited to!):
- Train for your mission on our infamous Challenge Hill obstacle course
- Take on the ultimate galaxy quest, including laser skirmish, navigating the asteroid belt, and hunting for moon rocks
- Create your own galaxy in a jar (younger groups) or alien hovercraft (older groups)
- Travel faster than the speed of light down the fast and furious Tube Slide
WEDNESDAY 5 OCTOBER – Kids vs. Wild
Do you have what it takes to survive in the wild? Put your skills, resourcefulness and teamwork to the test on this action-packed day, which will have something for everyone… from outdoor rookies to seasoned survivors!
Program highlights (but not limited to!):
- Conquer our infamous Challenge Hill obstacle course
- Coking s’mores over the fire
- Learning survival basics – water collection, fire lighting, and lightweight cooking (older groups)
- Making survival lanterns and camp banners (younger groups)
- Whizz down the fast and furious Tube Slide
THURSDAY 6 OCTOBER – Around the World
You’ve heard of Around the World in 80 Days… now prepare to do it in just 8 hours! Grab your passports, because we’ll be playing games and doing craft from around the globe!
Program highlights (but not limited to!):
- Conquer our infamous Challenge Hill obstacle course while ‘carrying the world in our hands’
- Play games from countries around the world, including Pakistan, Korea, China, Vietnam, and India
- Make Indian-inspired sand art (younger groups) and Mexican worry doll craft (older groups)
- Fly home down the fast and furious Tube Slide
FRIDAY 7 OCTOBER – Under Construction
A hands-on day centred around construction (and deconstruction!!). The only limit to what you can create is your imagination. Packed with designing, building, and plenty of active fun, this day has it all for adventurous and creative kids alike.

- Build miniature cities, play dough sculptures and towers (younger groups)
- Construct bridges over the creek (and try not to fall in!), giant archways and stretchers to carry your team mates (older groups)

MONDAY 10 OCTOBER – Mythical Beasts
Do you have a wild imagination and a taste for mythical tales? Have you ever wanted to match wits with a dragon, or go hunting for garden fairies? Well, you’re in luck, because here at Woodhouse, we know where to find them. Leave behind the mundane and enter a world of mythical creatures and enchanting adventure at Woodhouse!

- Go hunting across the property for the magical beast’s den
- Make your own dragon, fairy, or magical beast
- Help us find the missing dragon’s eggs
- Whizz down the fast and furious Tube Slide
TUESDAY 11 OCTOBER – Hands-on Nature
Does getting hands-on with mud, clay, and sticks sound like your idea of fun? Here at Woodhouse, we specialise in messy nature fun! This day in Adelaide’s coolest backyard has it all for adventurous, nature-loving kids.
Program highlights (but not limited to!):
- Conquer our infamous Challenge Hill obstacle course
- Build mud volcanoes that bubble and erupt
- Craft your own clay sculptures to take home
- Take on the mud obstacle course (older groups) – please bring a full change of clothes!
- Scavenge for your very own nature collection (younger groups)
- Whizz down the fast and furious Tube Slide
WEDNESDAY 12 OCTOBER – Tent-tastic!
Spring is the perfect season for camping – think sunny weather, baby animals everywhere, and campfires! Join us for a Tent-tastic time, for all the best parts of a Woodhouse camping trip packed into one exciting day.

- Learn how to set up tents and make the perfect campsite (younger groups)
- Put your navigation skills to the test in the Labyrinth (younger groups)
- Go on a scavenger hunt for missing tents scattered around the property (older groups)
- Light fires with limited resources (older groups)
- Cook s’mores over the campfire

THURSDAY 13 OCTOBER – Woodhouse School of Wizardry
Congratulations! You’ve been accepted into the finest magical institution in the Wizardry World! Dress in your finest magical attire and prepare for a day of enchanting activities and fantastic feats! Keep your wands at the ready and prepare for adventure on this most marvellous day!

- Conquer our infamous Challenge Hill obstacle course (while trying not to spill a drop of potion!)
- Make mandrakes, wands and potions
- Have a game of Quidditch
- Take a charms class with magic spells

FRIDAY 14 OCTOBER – Adrenaline Rush
Do you have a need for speed, a call for adventure, and energy to burn? We have the day for you! Pump up the adrenaline with a day filled to the brim with our most exciting activities.

- Play outdoor Laser Skirmish
- Go ‘ice blocking’ down the hill (ice sleds)
