While Vardon Avenue is small, it’s mighty, and in the Spring, it’s positively glorious.
The huge leafy trees which frame one end of the avenue, complement the festoon lighting, bringing a sense of festivity any time you visit. The street art, tiny tables lining the curb, sunshine and constant flow of people enjoying the East End, bring endless energy to the city destination.
Packed with sensational businesses who team up to throw regular street parties, the avenue which is tucked behind Adelaide’s iconic Rundle Street, thrives with life and energy.
One of the highlights of the year for the area, is the Melbourne Cup Vardon Avenue event, which brings not only a great street party and lunch to the East End, but plenty of music and entertainment, while always supporting a great cause. This year the event is helping to raise funds for Prostate Cancer.
This year the event is seated, giving you even more time to enjoy the 3-course sit down shared menu curated by Josh Lansley, Mothervine & Lemongrass.
Kicking off at midday on November 3rd, the event runs ’til 4:30pm and offers up 4.5 hours of premium beverages including Pol Roger, Yalumba, & Deviation Road.
There will be a Runway fashion show by One Rundle Trading Co & MJ Bale, with best dressed prizes for women & men. The prize? A Magnum of Pol Roger, Gift Voucher to One Rundle Trading & Gift Voucher to MJ Bale. Well worth putting in some effort!
All day there will be live screening of race day action, with an on-site bookie for those wanting to back a horse or two.
