Iconic SA Italian restaurant to close after 25 years

One of Adelaide’s most well-known Italian restaurant’s Enzo’s Ristorante, has announced its closure after 25-years serving up authentic Italian cuisine to South Australians.

In a bittersweet announcement, Enzo’s Ristorante, located on Port Road, declared the end of an illustrious 25-year journey of serving South Australians with authentic Italian cuisine.

Established with a vision to bring the flavours of Italy to Adelaide, Enzo’s Ristorante has indeed surpassed all expectations, becoming an iconic fixture in the city’s culinary landscape.

The news of closure, though tinged with sadness, is accompanied by a sense of gratitude and anticipation for what the future holds.

“Tears may mark the end of this chapter, but it’s with gratitude and anticipation that I look forward to the future,” Enzo shared.

Throughout its tenure, Enzo’s Ristorante has been a beacon of excellence, recognised not only locally but also nationally and internationally.

Enzo proudly reminisces about serving over 750,000 Italian meals, catering to celebrities, professional sports teams, and dignitaries. The restaurant’s accolades include being awarded the Ospitalita Italiana accreditation by the Italian Government and winning the SA Awards for Excellence in Formal Italian Dining in 2017 and 2019.

As Enzo bids farewell to his beloved restaurant, he expresses gratitude to his family, staff, and patrons who have been instrumental in shaping the establishment’s legacy.

“You have been the heart of this wonderful restaurant, and I am so grateful for the experiences we have shared and wonderful memories,” Enzo says.

While the closure marks the end of an era, Enzo’s passion for cooking remains undiminished. Already, he is exploring new ventures, eager to share his expertise accumulated over the past 25 years.

“Outside of my family, cooking has always been my second love. Now, I get to blend the two and share everything I have learned,” he enthuses.

In the spirit of celebration, Enzo invites patrons, old and new, to join him in commemorating this significant milestone. Special offerings of his favourite dishes will be available as part of the restaurant’s 25th birthday celebrations.

Looking ahead, Enzo is excited about the next chapter and the potential it holds for his brand.

“I am excited about what the next chapter holds for Enzo’s and the future development of our brand. Together with my family, we’re looking forward to the next phase of my life,” he shares.

The closure of Enzo’s Ristorante comes after the opening of new restaurant Enoteca Lounge & Cucina on Rundle Street which is co-owned by his daughter Natalie Fazzari and her fiancee Alessandro Ennor.

“Enzo’s restaurant has been a big part of my life because it is my Dad’s business and it has been an institution for traditional, hearty and fresh. We wanted to keep those values of fresh, hearty good food,” Natalie says about their new restaurant.

“We would like to give something new for the new generation, but always remembering the flavour and our traditional roots.”
