Survey Says is sweeping through Adelaide’s pubs with a fresh and fun take on trivia night. Created by the minds of Quiz Meisters, who have been leading Australia’s trivia scene for 20 years, the game is the ultimate twist on traditional trivia that’s all about opinions, debates, and good old-fashioned fun. Because who says trivia nights need to be all about memorising dry facts and rattling off dates?
Forget knowing which year the Berlin Wall fell, or the name of the US President in 1970. In Survey Says, it’s all about guessing how everyday Aussies answered hilariously quirky questions like, “What body part do you clean the least?”, “Which fruit or vegetable could you throw the furthest?”, or “What’s the sexiest letter?”
In the game, players aim to match their guesses with the most popular responses from the survey. There’s no need for pop culture knowledge, just a good sense of humour and the ability to think like the average Aussie. It’s a totally different spin on the traditional trivia night, making engaging for everyone, regardless of their trivia skills.
Unlike other pub games, Survey Says keeps it simple. All venues need to host the game is a screen, speakers, and a mic. The rest is easy, players just need some pen and paper to jot down their answers, and everything is set for a night of fun.
If you’re eager to join in the fun in South Australia, Survey Says is taking the state by storm and is now featured at nine venues and counting. These include:

Caitlin Macpherson from Imperial Measures Distilling says she thinks it’s something fun and different that people can do on a weeknight. She puts it best, saying: “You don’t actually have to know facts, you don’t actually have to know trivia. It’s something just a little bit more fun that I feel like everyone can play.”
“Everyones used to pub trivia, so I think the fact that this is a little bit of a different offering really keeps people engaged.”
And she’s right, Survey Says is a fun departure from the norm. Players get to debate, laugh, and celebrate in the unexpected answers, making for a more inclusive and enjoyable night out.
So, gather a group of friends or get your family together, head to your local venue, and get ready for a night where being average is the the key to victory. With Survey Says, the only thing you need to bring is a sense of humour and a love for a good time.
