Tucked in behind the craziness of Hindley Street, is a new alleyway offering which looks set to become a foodie destination over the coming months. Adelaide’s latest brunch hotspot Fairweather, has finally opened its doors. Solomon Street in Adelaide’s West, is serving up the newest caffeinated creation by Simon ‘Simmo’ Heinrich, whose natural habitat was previously behind the espresso machine at Please Say Please and Exchange Specialty Coffee.
Months of DIY labour with the crew have resulted in the inception of a beautifully light, bright and open space featuring geometric tiling and bountiful communal tables to stretch out on and let the coffee gods smile upon you.
Offering a select range of tasty treats for brunch and lunch, Fairweather keeps it simple. Delicious coffee and friendly service. It’s the little things in life.
Although the menu is still in its infantile stages, vegan and gluten free options are certainly accounted for, with the likes of a roasted cauliflower and hummus sandwich, and spring vegetable fattoush.
The baked eggs with house made flat bread and cumin-spiced labne was an unexpected winner. But it was the cinnamon infused chia pudding with sour cherry compote, rhubarb gel and candied pistachio that really won our hearts.
Using beans from Small Batch Roasting Co, also on the grind at Monday’s Coffee Store, Fairweather serves up some seriously satisfying coffee on the daily.
There also happens to be something cooking up one door down… Still in the final stages of construction, Sunny’s is set to join the new Solomon Street gang with a late night bar, serving up tunes from a DJ booth and pizzas from the oven. Set to open November 2nd, Solomon Street and its new arrivals are one to put on the map. Drop that pin!
Fairweather’s hours are:
Mon – Fri: 7am-4pm
Saturday: 8am-3pm
Sunday: CLOSED
