Adelaide – a city of culture and the arts.
In such a city, it is not surprising to see vibrant art institutions scattered all around the place.
One such place is Adelaide’s newest Art Bar Sixteen-O’s located on the fringes of Adelaide’s Chinatown.
This particular art studio brims with the smells of paint and clay, as well as the sketching sounds of pencil on paper.
Co-owner and portraits teacher Echo Wu told Glam Adelaide that the art studio has opened to great success.
“We are open six days a week,” said Echo.
“We have been open for three or four months and lots of people like our classes.”
Sixteen-O’s offers over 10 mediums of art classes including pottery, digital art and 3D modelling.
“We have portrait classes and a painting class and sketching as well as digital arts that are done on the iPad using procreate.”
The art studio is open to the public during the day and evenings for two-hour art sessions, with afternoons reserved for student art classes.
“Starting every day (except Monday) from 4:00 pm, Sixteen-O’s Art Bar is your after-school playground,” Echo told us.
“We customise our teaching content and syllabus to your own needs and interests: whether you are an entry-level artist or a high-level professional artist, we have something for you.”
Echo continued by explaining how Art is more than just the appreciation of visual beauty it is the connection of the five senses.
The art studio which sprung from humble beginnings in 2018 and recently opened its first studio has already become active in the Adelaide arts and cultural scene.
Sixteen-O’s Art Bar has frequented many art exhibitions including the South Australian Living Artists (SALA) Festival.
Echo explained how all artists start somewhere and welcomes all budding creators of all skill levels.
“Everyone is welcome,” said Echo.
“Start with the simple things and develop your skills to become a great artist.”
Sixteen-O’s is located at 160 Wright St, Adelaide, SA 5000
