Adelaide’s Newest Craft Gin Is Here

Inspired heavily by the rich history of Australia, Adelaide’s own folks down at Lyrebird Distilling Company have developed a new Australian gin that aims to capture the new world with the old.

Here at Glam there is nothing we love more than a good gin (and a good wine, any local alcohol really). So we were very excited when we heard about the newest local distillery – Lyrebird.

Inspired heavily by the rich history of Australia, Adelaide’s own folks down at Lyrebird Distilling Company have developed a new Australian gin that aims to capture the new world with the old.

Described as ‘a bush walk, the rainforest, wild dunes and the beach,’ Lyrebird Australiana Dry Gin is capturing the aromas and flavours of our Australian environment.

Distillers Angus Rawson and Hugh Lumsden say their memories of hiking through the bush, surfing and seeing and tasting the world around them has played a significant role giving their gin that ‘bush twist.’

The Gin is produced at the space of their good friends ‘Small Batch Distilling’ (Red Hen Gin, for gin lovers playing along at home) in the Adelaide CBD, with the first batch limited to 160 bottles and a limited quantity available online for $70.

If you’re like us and can’t wait to have a taste of this incredible new Australian gin, then head on over to 2KW, BRKLYN, Hains & Co or The Howling Owl where it is currently being poured.

Get your tonic water, lemon, strawberries and glasses ready, here’s just another reason to celebrate our gorgeous state and the people doing us proud.

You can pick up a bottle of Lyrebird from their site here.
