Formerly a Pasta Go Go store, a Surrey Downs joint has rebranded and refitted and it’s looking intriguing.
Frankie’s Pasta is all new but still has Reece and Talisa Formosa at the forefront, the duo who ran the previous Pasta Go Go store.
Its updated menu has a raft of fun and inclusive dishes, so expect more vegetarian and gluten free options, alongside a kids menu which has some surprises.
Or specifically, one VERY surprising addition.
Vegemite. Pasta.
In what seems to be the latest of Vegemite-mixed-with-blank concoctions, Frankie’s Pasta has unveiled this creation in their kids menu.
And in this occasion, we think it’s perfectly acceptable to order from the kids menu (but if you’re extra hungry, kids menu items can be ordered in adult size).
So what goes into this pasta? Vegemite + butter + Parmesan cheese. A recipe that denotes simplicity, like how the Italian’s intended it to be made.
In fact, owner Reece himself was enjoying Vegemite on toast when this combination occurred to him.
Practice runs and lots of research later, Reece unveiled his Vegemite pasta, that he tells us is already impressing Vegemite lovers AND haters.
Frankie’s Pasta isn’t just slinging Vegemite pasta, all your favourites are on the menu; Napolitana, Amatriciana, the good ol’ spag bol, and more.
With branding by local designer, Matthew Stuckey from Be Friendly, Frankie’s Pasta is looking like something different in Surrey Downs.
Frankie’s is located in the Surrey Downs Shopping Centre and offers both delivery and takeaway.
